The Mudslide is a guilt-free dessert … Both dairy and sugar free, this frozen dessert is a great alternative to ice-cream. Delivering both in flavor and nutrition, the Mudslide is creamy and refreshing. Just what you need on a hot day! It’s also packed full of the good stuff…

Banana Power

Pre-packaged, low cost and great when you’re on the go, bananas are Mother Nature’s answer to convenience food. And they pack a real nutritional punch too! One medium-sized banana provides a whopping 400mg of potassium, an essential mineral for maintaining good cardiovascular health. Including more potassium in your diet may help to lower blood pressure and improve heart function. Potassium also helps to relieve muscle cramps, making them a favorite among endurance athletes. Due to the unique mix of vitamins, minerals and low GI carbohydrates, bananas are great at sustaining energy levels, and are the perfect snack when you need an extra boost.

Use super-ripe frozen bananas: When your bananas are about to pass on the counter, peal them, put them in a zip-lock bag and freeze them.

Tahini fun

Tahini is a thick paste made from sesame seeds, and is a traditional ingredient in many Middle Eastern and Asian dishes. Providing the same nutritional benefits of sesame, tahini has the added bonus of being much easier to digest than the whole seeds, which can be hard work for the body to break down. Because it is a paste, tahini is kinder to the digestive system, and is easily passed through the digestive tract. This means the essential minerals it contains (such as calcium, magnesium and copper) are easier for the body to absorb, so it’s highly recommended for those with digestive issues. Tahini is high in protein and healthy fats and adds a real depth of flavor to both sweet and savory dishes.

Medjool Dates… Mmmmmedjool

With their oddly wrinkled, brown exterior, the Medjool Date might not be the most appealing snack. But what they lack in appearance, they make up for in flavor. Satisfyingly chewy and sweet, these dates are great for controlling sugar addictions. Their high fiber content keeps you fuller for longer, helping to curb cravings. The high amounts of insoluble dietary fiber and amino acids they contain also aid the digestive tract and can help relieve both irritable bowel syndrome and constipation. Medal Dates are also high in copper, an essential mineral for the formation of red blood cells and the absorption of iron into the bloodstream.

As well as being totally delicious, the Vanilla Bliss Mudslide is also super easy to make. Try one for yourself:

Recipe

Serves one
• 1 frozen Banana, chopped
• 1 tbsp Tahini
• 1/2 tsp Natural vanilla essence
• 4 Ice cubes Topping
• 1 tsp Bee Pollen

Add a Medjool Date on top to serve

In a blender, put the banana, tahini, vanilla essence and ice cubes. Blitz until smooth. Pour into a glass and top with bee pollen and a Medjool date to finish. What could be better. Enjoy!
